Overview
Mitral stenosis (MS) is characterized by a narrowing of the mitral valve opening that restricts diastolic blood flow from the left atrium into the left ventricle. Generally, these patients will present with dyspnea at rest or with exertion due to associated pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure.
