Overview
Apical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (AHCM) is rare cardiac anomaly that was first described in Japan in 1976; it is also referred to as Yamaguchi syndrome. Localized hypertrophy of the left ventricular apex causes decreased cavity volume, reduced cardiac output, and mimics signs of acute coronary syndrome.
